These two points have the greatest impact on the flavor profile of a coffee, and PI helps roasters get to a great cup on the very first roast.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Smarter Way to Approach a New Coffee<\/strong><br \/>\nRather than relying on trial and error, roasters can select a coffee\u2019s country of origin, processing method, and their roasting machine. PI then identifies the most common drop temperatures and adjusts for individual machine characteristics, accounting for differences in thermocouples, sensor placement, and historical first crack readings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsible, Data-Driven Guidance<\/strong><br \/>\nTo avoid misleading suggestions, PI automatically excludes extreme outliers and will withhold<br \/>\nrecommendations if there is too little data or if the data was created by too few people to provide meaningful (or responsible) guidance. For example, if the dataset for a rare combination such as Guatemala with Red Honey processing is too small, PI will default to a broader but more reliable category, such as all honey-processed coffees from Guatemala.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sustainability and Profitability Through Smarter Roasting<\/strong><br \/>\nTrue sustainability in specialty coffee is about more than just sourcing. It means building tools that help roasters achieve better outcomes faster with their green coffees. In a volatile green coffee market, where prices and availability fluctuate, we must collectively become smarter about how we roast to preserve quality, reduce waste, and maximize profitability. Path Intelligence\u2122 empowers roasters to make informed decisions quickly, ensuring they get the most value from every bag of green coffee while delivering exceptional cups to their customers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How It Works<\/strong><br \/>\n1. Choose the coffee\u2019s country of origin and processing method.<br \/>\n2. Analyze \u2013 PI reviews thousands of profiles and provides a histogram spread of popular drop<br \/>\ntemperatures normalized to the temperature at which your machine typically hits first crack.<br \/>\n3. Select a drop temperature from a histogram based on your preference for roast level.<br \/>\n4.
